Thirty drawings and paintings by John Berger complete the spotlight on his work held by the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. They will be shown to the general public for the first time, only two months after his death. Most of the works were lent to the Festival exclusively for this exhi- bition by John Berger’s son, Yves; others belong to private collections.
The exhibition will also in- clude screenings of films, video extracts and TV shows on Berger, as well as copies of his books. At the opening, a round-table discussion will take place, at which the exhibition and Berger’s work will be discussed by Tom Overton (writer, curator and researcher at the British Library) and Antonis Kotidis (Professor, Department of His- tory of Art, School of History and Archaeology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).
